
Regatta Directions
To St. Catharine’s: Peace Bridge straight on QEW. Get off at Martindale Rd. Turn left and go to end (Main St.)Turn right and go 3 - 2 mile and look for sign for Henley Island on your right. Turn in and follow road. Over the bridge, turn left & park in main lot.
Amenities: Food concession on site with many different offerings. Men’s and Women’s restrooms in main boathouse Bay #4, walk up the stairs. View race from the point or at the finish line, by car 2 miles away at the grandstand.
To Ridley College: Peace Bridge straight on QEW. Exit at Martindale Rd. Turn right on Martindale and go about 1.6 miles and you will pass 406 and Martindale will turn into Louth Street. Keep on Louth St. (just more than 1/2 mile) thru an S turn and make a left onto Ridley Road. First left into Ridley and go to the gym on the left.
To Welland, Ontario: Peace Bridge straight on QEW. Exit on Netherby Rd. Turn left and follow for approx. 10 miles. Do not turn off for exits to Welland. After going thru tunnel go to first intersection and turn left. You can now see the racecourse to your right. Continue straight approx. 1 mile, turn right and go over bridge. Turn right and continue to the boathouse and parking lot. (you cannot park in this area in 2007!!!)
Amenities: Small on-site concession. Hot dogs and hamburgers with beverages. Men’s and Women’s restrooms in a small building near the boathouse. To view the race you can drive to the viewing stands just past the bridge, or consider bringing a bicycle and follow along the pathway on the other side of the river along the racecourse. A beautiful place to row - a difficult place to watch.
To Saratoga Springs: Take NYS Thruway 90 East to Exit 24. Take 87 North (Northway) to Exit 14-9P (approx. 20 miles). Turn left on 9P. After approx. 2 miles there is a Y in the road - bear right. Follow regatta signs - you are less than 2 miles from the course. Go over bridge and immediately turn left into parking area - officials will direct you.
Amenities: They have a snack tent set up with many kinds of food and drinks. There are port-o-johns. The best place to watch is along the riverside, so bring chairs!! There is a shopping mall 10 miles away. In downtown Saratoga is a very quaint town with many places to eat, drink and shop. Men can drink and the women shop!
To Head of the Genesee (Rochester, NY) GENESEE VALLEY PARK: Take NYS Thruway I-90 East. Merge onto I-390 North via exit 46 towards Rochester. Exit 17 to Route 383 North (Scottsville Road). Make a Left onto Scottsville Road. Stay on Scottsville for .5 miles. Turn Right onto Elmwood Ave. Stay on Elmwood Ave. as it leads to the Genesee Valley Park.
For now...the rowers will be dropped of at the boathouse in Genesee Valley Park...that is where the boat trailers will be. Spectators need to go out to Elmwood Ave. and take a right onto Elmwood and cross over the bridge and turn right onto Moore Drive. Follow signs for parking.
Amenities: They have a concession stand on both sides of the river. The regatta coordinators are not giving any further information out. This is our first time at this regatta...we will know more 'after' we experience it!
