NYS Scholastic Championships 2008
Regatta Information
Some information on this regatta. It draws athletes from the entire state including Long Island and NYC. If you place (medal) you get a bid to the National Championship in Camden, NJ (not novice crews). This is a 1500m sprint race. Each rower can only row in one category/race unlike other regattas. "Club" races refer to programs like WS that are made up of athletes from different schools. We race in the Scholastic categories. We will not be competing in this regatta with West Side for medals or for a bid at the National Championships.
Friday, May 9
Early dismissal at 10:00 for the Ltwt boats - I will be at HAA at 10 ready to go. We will check in the hotel and get to the course to rig our boats.
Some athletes need to take AP tests and will be dismissed at 11:30 or when finished.

Driving & Parking: Parking is available on site. A friendly warning - if it rains prior to the regatta by a few days, expect a mud pit. In terms of keeping dry, I suggest you get a pair of Wellingtons...all rubber boots that rise up towards the knees. There will be a fee for parking $10-$15 per day. We have a tent located near the river and thanks to Maria Dines who plans in December to reserve the spot. Not sure on this as of yet!!!! we did not receive the 2008 map from Saratoga yet. But this is a good map of how it works. More to follow.
